Hello Everybody! Cześć!
I am George from Bucharest. Sorry to write in English, I ll try google translate for next posts and promise to learn Polish
I found this forum couple of years ago and I am amazed on level of information, they are so accurate and helpful.
Quickly on the subject: For you guys who cross Romania from Debrecen- Oradea, two weeks ago I came from Oradea to Bucharest and I used another route then the classic route Oradea-Cluj-Sibiu and I want to share with you this information.
The new rute is Oradea-Chisineu Cris -Ineu- Varfurile- Soimus -Highway-Bucharest (sightseeing route):
https://goo.gl/qRu67F
The particularities of the rute are the following:
1. It is 30 km longer than Oradea-Huedin-Cluj -Sebes - Bucharest, but is a very relaxing and sightseeing road, and also few cars on the road ( Cluj -Turda is full of Trucks, this one is a travel dream)
2. It is shorter as time most of the times ( Waze will tell you exactly to choose it if you use Waze from Oradea and place Bucharest as destination)
3. Parts of the road is old ( Chisineu Cris -Ineu and further ( but empty) and part brand new ( part of Varfurie - Brad and Brad- Soimus ( Hundeodara County) but does not have all road amenities.
4. Biggest advantages: it is a relaxing road comparing with Oradea-Cluj -Turda -Sebes , which is a road that gets you tired
5. Biggest disadvantage: it is totally NOT recommendable to drive it at night as the road has some very twisty parts and moreover new road does not have paint *(Brad-Soiumus). At night would be a nightmare. Also take care of railroad pass at exist of Chisineu Cris and Ineu if i Remember correctly, two railroad lanes without barriers, dangerous.
6. At Soimus I entered a cork and had to wait 20 minutes, but even longer and with this cork, and even driving slowly, my time was better than the main route.
You can drive this road with any car, I was driving a low car, a Jaguar X and I was driving slower that traffic in older parts, where it was bumpier, ( Chisineu Cris - Ineu like 10 km and further another segment), but from 241 km maybe only 2 segments were out of order, first 10 km from Chisineub Cris and another segment further, I don t remember exactly.
The road does not have potholes.
Finally I arrived at destination more relaxed, not tired, happy that I did not have to make Oradea -Huedin and Cluj -Turda ( very challenging) and glad i saw very, very, nice view on the road. Also I arrived quicker. Initial reason to choose this path was actually that I had time pressure.
It seems that it was another shorter acceptable road Oradea-Les-Bocsig-Varfurile-Brad-Soimus or Oradea-Salonta -Sicula-Ineu- etc but i did not want to take any chance and I chosen what Waze recommended. In Ro, Waze is generally better that other navigation. Oradea-Varfurile i still out of order as you know it. (part of E79)
Thank you!
George
